Caetano e Gil concorrem ao Grammy de World Music; veja os indicados

A longa amizade entre Caetano Veloso e Gilberto Gil pode render aos dois brasileiros um prêmio Grammy em 2017. O álbum "Dois Amigos, um Século de Música: Multishow Live", registro da turnê que rodou o Brasil, os Estados Unidos e a Europa nos últimos dois anos, foi indicado ao prêmio na categoria Álbum de World Music.

No show registrado em disco, Caetano e Gil revisitam canções que marcaram a carreira de ambos desde os anos 1960, como "Tropicália", "Drão", "Back in Bahia" e "Nine out of Ten", além de apresentarem uma composição inédita, composta às vésperas da passagem por São Paulo em 2015, "As Camélias do Quilombo do Leblon".

Caetano já venceu o prêmio na mesma categoria em 2000, pelo disco "Livro", lançado no Brasil em 1997, e Gil foi premiado em 1999, com "Quanta Live", e em 2005, por "Eletracústico".

Duelo de divas

Nas principais categorias do 59ª Grammy Awards, duas das maiores cantoras da atualidade, Beyoncé e Adele, vão duelar na tradicional premiação da música americana, que acontece em 12 de fevereiro de 2016, em Los Angeles. Elas disputam o prêmio de melhor álbum do ano, gravação do ano e canção do ano.

Adele impulsionou a venda de discos físicos em todo mundo e vendeu mais de 30 milhões de cópias de seu terceiro álbum, "25", lançado em dezembro passado, e cujo carro-chefe, "Hello", viralizou nas redes e dominou o topo das paradas.

Já Beyoncé lançou "Lemonade" de surpresa em abril, acompanhado de um média-metragem. O formato surpreendeu crítica e público pela mensagem sobre separação, feminismo e negritude, sem deixar de lado a vocação pop. Prova disso foi "Formation", que agitou tanto as pistas quanto a política, ao citar na letra os Panteras Negras, grupo revolucionário de luta por direitos civis da década de 1960.

Os indicados foram anunciados pela cantora Meghan Trainor, vencedora do prêmio revelação do Grammy 2016.
